Managing Damaged Quantities with System-Created Damaged Locations

This guide explains the new feature for handling damaged quantities using system-created damaged locations. This update simplifies the process of managing damaged items, ensuring they are accurately tracked and managed in your inventory system.

Key Features and Changes

  1. Automatic Assignment to Damaged Locations:

    • Whenever a new product is received as damaged, the system will automatically assign it to a damaged location created by the system.

    • This damaged location is specifically designed to handle and isolate damaged goods from regular stock, ensuring that these items are managed separately.

    • You can view and manage these assignments within the SKU bin mapping section.

  2. Exclusion from Storage Quantity:

    • Damaged quantities assigned to these system-created damaged locations are no longer included in the overall storage quantity.

    • This change ensures that only usable stock is reflected in your storage totals, providing a clearer picture of available inventory.

    • Instead, the damaged quantities are now exclusively tracked under the "Damaged Qty" section in your stock ledger.

  3. Transferring Damaged Quantities:

    • If you need to move damaged items from the system-created damaged location to another location, you can do so in two ways:

Option 1: Using SKU Bin Mapping

      • Go to the SKU bin mapping view in your system.

      • Locate the damaged items and select the option to transfer them from the system-created damaged location to another location of your choice.

Option 2: Using the Stock Ledger

      • Access the stock ledger and find the entry corresponding to the damaged quantity.

      • Click on the "Damaged Qty" to view details.

      • Select the appropriate Unit of Measure (UOM).

      • You'll find a "Transfer" button under the action menu, allowing you to transfer the damaged items to a different location.

      • Note: After transferring the items to a different location, they will no longer be maintained as damaged in the original system-created location.

  4. Tracking Unit of Measure (UOM), Lot ID, and Serial ID:

    • The system now supports detailed tracking of Unit of Measure (UOM) for damaged quantities, along with additional attributes like Lot ID, Serial ID, and more. This enhancement allows for more precise monitoring of damaged stock, ensuring that each unit and its associated details are accounted for correctly.

Please Note :

  • Non-Removable Damaged Locations:These system-created damaged locations cannot be deleted through the locations management feature. They are automatically maintained by the system to ensure the integrity and accuracy of damaged stock tracking.

  • Damaged Quantities Not Usable for Order Fulfillment: Damaged quantities stored in these system-created locations will not be available for fulfilling orders. This segregation ensures that only intact, sellable stock is used for customer orders.
