Scanning to Add Items to the Chosen Box

The next step is adding items to the chosen box. Please note that your latest added box is always going to be the chosen box. In case you wish to add an item to another box, please follow the Manually Adding Items to the Chosen Box workflow.

There are two ways to trigger this workflow.

Option 1: The associate can scan the item code in the Detail View of the screen

Option 2: The associate can choose the relevant line item for the order from the List View

Once one of the options is used to choose a product, the detail view will populate with details about the chosen product.

On this screen, you can verify the chosen product’s information and specify the quantity that you want to pack into the currently active box

Please note that as of writing this guide, while the list view shows every unique item as a separate line, it is NOT mandatory to mark the items packed one at a time.

Users can always use the quantity text field to choose how many items they want to pack into the currently active box and perform the activity in one go, as opposed to scanning and packing items one at a time.

Next, the packer will be asked a question before proceeding. The question would be “Is this item picked right?”

This is a validation step that allows the packer (presumably a separate individual) to verify and vet the activity performed by the picker and prepper.

At this juncture, if the user clicks on No, then the order is marked as incomplete and the admin is notified. This flow is elucidated in the Inventory Mismatch during Packing workflow.

If the user clicks on Yes, they will be asked to confirm the packing action using the “Confirm Pack” button

Once done, the user will be redirected back to the detailed view screen and the completion rate will get adjusted based on the completed item. The box contents will also increase by the user-input quantity of line items.

This step will repeat as many times as required until all the items in the list view have their status as CONFIRMED. Once this is achieved, users will be able to move to the last user-input stage for packing: Confirming Box Contents.
