Associate Role
This document provides detailed guidance on how to associate user roles within the Hopstack platform, focusing specifically on roles that do not involve permission settings but rather define operational tasks such as packing or picking.
Understanding Associate Roles
Associate roles on the Hopstack platform are designed to specify the types of operations a user can perform, such as packing, picking, and other warehouse activities. These roles generally do not include permission settings that control access to different parts of the platform.
Predefined Associate Roles
Usually, associate roles are pre-added to the platform. If you find that an associate role is not available:
Create the Role: You can create a new role with the name 'Associate'.
Contact Implementation Team: Alternatively, you may contact the Hopstack Implementation Team to set up the role for you.
Associating Roles to Users
To associate an 'Associate' role to a user, follow these steps:

Navigate to User Management: Log into the Hopstack platform and access the 'User Management' module from the 'Setup' section.
Add or Edit a User:
If you are adding a new user, click on the 'New User' button and fill in the user details.
If you are editing an existing user, locate the user in the user list, click on the three-dot action button next to their name, and select 'Edit'.
Select Role:
In the role selection section, choose the 'Associate' role from the dropdown menu or list of available roles.
Define Operations:
Specify the operations that the user is authorized to perform.
Submit Changes:
After setting the role and operations, click on the 'Submit' button to save the changes.
Best Practices
Verify Role Availability: Always check to ensure the 'Associate' role is available or set up correctly before assigning it to users.
Clear Role Definitions: Clearly define what each operation entails to avoid confusion and ensure users understand their responsibilities.
Continuous Updates: Regularly review and update the operations assigned to each role as your organizational needs evolve.
By following these instructions, you can effectively manage associate roles on the Hopstack platform, ensuring that each user is correctly aligned with their operational responsibilities. For further assistance or specific inquiries, contact the Hopstack support team.
