Scan a Tracking Number

The next step is to scan a tracking number. There are three ways to proceed from this screen:
The user scans a tracking number
The user checks the list view and picks the consignment they want to receive and clicks on “Work on This”
The user skips scanning a tracking number entirely

User Scans a Tracking Number
If a tracking number is scanned, then this tracking number must already be attributed to an order that belongs to the chosen client.
When a tracking number is scanned in Hopstack, the system looks up the tracking number to see if it is already attributed to any existing order in the system for the chosen client.
If the tracking number exists, then the system will send a positive notification and take the user to the next page i.e. to scan the items involved in the order. The line items involved in that order will be populated by the system in the list view
If the tracking number does not exist, then the system will send a negative notification and take the user to the next page, but this time the line items won’t be populated by the system in the list view. This is because the system does not know which consignment has been picked for receiving.

User Clicks on “Work on This” from List View
The user will be able to see a list of all the available consignments for the chosen client in the list view. They can choose which consignment they want to work on and click on the “Work on This” button to proceed to the next screen.

User Skips the Step
In this case, the user will directly be taken to the next screen and asked to scan an item code to start receiving. The list view will not be populated with any details about the consignment. This will be considered a blindly received product.

If there is only one consignment in the UNPROCESSED state and the user skips the scanning of a tracking number, the system will choose that consignment to perform receiving.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
I scanned a tracking number but it says that it could not find a tracking number for that client. What do I do?
It seems like the tracking number you are scanning is not attributed to any consignment for that client. Please make sure that:
The client has been chosen correctly, and/or
The tracking number has been correctly attributed to a consignment belonging to the chosen consignment.
