Order Status - Picking

To provide a more detailed explanation of the order status and its various stages, let’s break down each status and what it signifies in the order fulfillment process:

  1. Unprocessed Status:

    • Definition: This status is assigned when orders are either newly created by users or imported from different marketplaces.

    • Implication: It indicates that the order is in its initial state, awaiting processing. No actions have yet been taken to fulfill this order.

  2. In-Process (Sub-Status: Picking Started):

    • Definition: This status is applied once an associate initiates the picking process by starting a new batch. The main order status updates to "In-Process," and the sub-status to "Picking Started".

    • Details: At this stage, line items within the order are still marked as "Unprocessed," indicating that the physical picking of items has not yet commenced. This status signals the preparation phase of order fulfillment.

  3. In-Process (Picking in Progress):

    • Continuation from Picking Started: Despite the addition of a tote for item collection, the order's status remains "In-Process" with the sub-status "Picking Started." The designation of line items as "Unprocessed" continues until the picking of items officially begins.

    • Implication: This phase underscores the ongoing preparation for item picking, from the tote.

  4. In-Process (Sub-Status: Picking Completed):

    • Definition: Once all items of the order have been successfully picked, the sub-status is updated to "Picking Completed," while the overall order status remains "In-Process."

    • Line Item Status: At this juncture, individual line items are tagged as "Picked," indicating that they have been physically selected and prepared for the next phase. The activity status for these items is marked as "Completed."

    • Confirmed Dropoff: Following the successful picking, items that are confirmed as dropped off at their designated location have their activity status updated to "Confirmed Dropoff." This confirms the completion of the picking process and readiness for the next step in fulfillment.

  5. Partial Picking:

    • Situation: Occurs when a discrepancy in quantity arises—specifically when the actual quantity picked is less than the quantity originally ordered.

    • Implication: This status indicates an issue with fulfilling the complete order due to stock limitations or errors in picking.
