Inbound Operations
Overview
The Operations Screen is a fundamental component of our warehouse management system (WMS). This operational dashboard is designed to provide real-time data and insights into the various activities carried out by warehouse associates, especially those concerning receiving and putaway tasks.
This screen contains three tabs, one each for every major outbound activity configured in the system. Based on your type of operation and the workflows we have configured for you, one or more screens may be irrelevant.
However, the format for the screens, and the information displayed, remains the same.
Main Features
Widgets
The Operations Screen provides admins with four main widgets displaying top-level metrics. These are:
Total Receivings: This metric indicates the total quantity of goods or items received by the warehouse over a specified time period. It provides an overview of the inbound operations and the volume of goods flowing into the warehouse.
Completion Rates: The completion rate metric displays the percentage of tasks that have been completed versus the total tasks assigned for receiving and putaway actions. It can be an excellent indicator of productivity and efficiency.
Receiving per Hour: This displays the rate at which the warehouse is receiving goods per hour. It can be a good indicator of the pace of work and effectiveness of the inbound process.
Items in Error: Items in error refer to those goods or transactions that have encountered issues during the receiving or putaway process. These errors could be due to data entry errors, incorrect quantities, damages, or other system or process issues. This metric helps in identifying problem areas and resolving them promptly.
Activity Table
Below the widgets, you'll find a table providing a more detailed breakdown of each receiving and putaway activity performed in the system. This table will contain data fields such as:
Assigned Time: When the task was assigned to a warehouse associate.
First Received: Time when the first item for the activity was received.
Last Received: Time when the last item for the activity was received.
Number of Items: Total items involved in the activity.
Completion Rate: Percentage of completed tasks within the activity.
Status of the Activity: Shows whether the activity is ongoing, completed, or in error.
Form Factor: The packaging type or form of the received goods.
LPN (if applicable): License Plate Number associated with the shipment or items, if available.
LPN Form Factor (if applicable): The form or type of the LPN, if available.
Detailed Worker Level Metrics
By clicking on the 'Receivings per Hour' widget, you can access detailed worker level metrics. This data helps analyze individual productivity and can display the following:
Active Picking Time: The total time a worker spends picking items.
Picks per Hour: The number of items picked by a worker in one hour.
Time per Pick: The average time taken by a worker to pick an item.
You can compare these metrics with historical data for specific time periods, like the last week, the last month, or select a custom range.
By using the operations screen effectively, you can streamline your warehouse activities, identify bottlenecks, and optimize overall warehouse performance.
