Adding LPN

We have introduced a flexible "Add LPN" option under each item, making it easier to manage, track, and categorize items with different configurations. Here’s how this feature works:

Step 1: Add LPN

  • You now have the option to add an LPN (License Plate Number) under each item. LPNs are essential for tracking items throughout their lifecycle, specifying their form factor, and managing inventory efficiently.

Step 2: Form Factor Selection

  • Select the appropriate Form Factor for the LPN from the dropdown menu (e.g., pallet, case, or carton).

  • This ensures that the item is categorized correctly within the inventory system and helps with proper tracking and management.

Step 3: Quantity of Codes

  • Specify the number of unique codes you intend to generate for the LPN, which facilitates accurate inventory tracking.

Step 4: Select a Code or Opt for Automatic Generation

  • Manual Code Selection: If you have a specific LPN code in mind (adhering to pre-defined coding systems or regulations), you can manually select it from the list.

  • Automatic Code Generation: For efficiency or when no specific code preference exists, let the system automatically generate a unique code. This ensures that each item is uniquely identifiable, making inventory management more consistent.

Alternatively, you can enter the LPN code manually if needed.

Step 5: Confirm and Save LPN Details

  • Review the details you’ve entered, including:

    • LPN

    • Selected Form Factor

    • Quantity of codes

    • Code itself (if manually selected)

  • After verifying the information, click Submit to confirm and save the LPN to your inventory system. This action officially adds the LPN and integrates it into your workflow.

  • Print Option: If the product didn’t come with a barcode, you can use the Print option to generate and print the barcode for easy identification.

Step 6: Editing LPN Details

  • You can always return and edit the LPN details by clicking on LPN Details, but changes can only be made before confirming the receiving process.

Important Notes:

  • Double-Check Entries: Be sure to double-check the LPN entries for any typos or errors to ensure accurate inventory tracking.

  • Form Factor Familiarity: Understanding the correct form factor helps categorize items accurately, which simplifies management and retrieval.

  • Automatic Code Generation: Using this feature can save time and ensure unique item identification for consistent inventory tracking.

  • Barcode Printing: If the product doesn’t come with a barcode, you can generate one using the print feature for easy labeling.
